Strouthopoulos Charalampos was born in Drama, Greece, in 1962. He received his Diploma Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Patras, Patra, Greece and the Ph.D. Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece. From 1988 to 2001 Dr.Strouthopoulos was a scientific associate at departments of Civil, Mechanical and Informatics Engineering & Communications, Technological Educational Institude (TEI) of Serres. From 2002 he has been Professor at the department of Informatics & Communications, TEI of Serres. During 2001 to 2005 he was head of the department. From 2010 he has been the director of Faculty Applied Technology, TEI of Serres. From 2018 he is Administrative Affairs Vice-Rector of TEI of Central Macedonia (currently International Hellenic University).
His current research interests are in digital image processing, document processing, analysis and recognition, machine learning and signal processing. He has published a number of articles in International Journals and Conferences. Prof. Strouthopoulos is a Member of the Greek Technical Chamber.
